Naperville is the number one destination in the Chicago suburbs for so many reasons – shopping, eating, drinking and sightseeing –  and in the honeypot of tourist attractions is the Naperville Riverwalk. Whether it’s a day out with the family, a romantic date, or a picnic with friends, the Naperville Riverwalk is the perfect place to enjoy the sunshine.

There is so much to see and do on the Riverwalk and it would be a shame to miss the good parts. We’ve put together the best walking route through the riverside park and into downtown Naperville, which ticks off the best parking, the rotary tower, the quarry, the centennial beach, historical monuments, resting spots, and the perfect places to grab a coffee or bite to eat along the way.

Walk with us and we’ll show you how it’s done!

Scroll to the end for a printable map. It includes the full walking route and all the destinations mapped out along the way.

Self Guided Tour of The Naperville Riverwalk

1. Park at the Naperville Riverwalk Parking

This parking spot usually has spaces because it’s not right in the middle of downtown. There is also plenty of accessible parking, which is unrestricted. Parking is free for two hours from Monday-Friday between 7:00 am – 4:00 pm. That might not sound like long, but without any stops, the riverwalk itself only takes half an hour.

If you prefer a leisurely stroll or plan to make a long stop to paddle boat or hang out on centennial beach, then you can find all day parking at the Municipal Center Parking (again, free). And don’t worry because you can simply do the walking tour in reverse!

2. Find the hidden woodland pathway

Start at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Center, or in the parking bays just in front of it. Walk alongside the parking bays with the center on your right and the Grand Pavilion (a sheltered picnic spot) on your left. You’ll come to a small roundabout, where you’ll find a paved footpath through a woodland, heading towards the river. The old halogen style street lamps will have you feeling like you just stepped back a few decades in time to discover the charming river walk.

3. Stroll along the DuPage River

Through the short woodland path, you’ll break out onto the DuPage Riverwalk. Bear left and stroll the DuPage River, with the river bank to your right. You should be heading back towards Naperville downtown. Hint: Follow the flow of the river and keep it on your right.

You’ll head back past the Grand Pavilion, a playground, and the ice skating rink (which is retired in the summer). You’ll notice there are so many different kinds of trees planted throughout the riverwalk, thanks to the thoughtful park planning. If you’re with little ones you can make a game of counting how many different types you see!

4. Cross over at the Moser Tower Bridge

When you reach the first bridge over the river, cross it! It’ll take you over to the Moser Tower and the quarries. You can’t miss it because the Moser Tower is just shy of 160ft tall.

5. Enjoy the Quarry, Moser Tower & Rotary Hill

The Moser Tower is a significant landmark in Naperville, and not just for its height. It was built to celebrate the third millennium. The tower has 72 bells hidden inside and to get to the top, you’d have to climb 253 steps. The largest bell weighs six tons and is named after the founder of Naperville, Joseph Naper.

If you’re lucky, you might get to hear the majestic bells ringing out during one of the summertime concerts. Perhaps, somewhere, Joseph Naper himself is listening too! We hope he’d be proud of everything Naperville has achieved.

You’ll also find a small but scenic quarry just behind Moser Tower and if you head south, there’s a big hill for energetic children to run up. In the winter, Naperville locals head to Rotary Hill for sledding, which is great fun.

6. Take a rest at the scenic Gregory Gazebo

Once you’ve taken in the sights at the Moser Tower, head towards the second quarry. Take any of the paths from Moser Tower or Rotary Hill, but just keep the River on your left hand side. You’ll soon reach the big quarry and along its western edge, you’ll find the scenic Gregory Gazebo, which is a charming outpost perfect for taking in the view and snapping a selfie.

7. Optional: Go Paddle Boating on the Lake or get a snack at the Riverwalk Cafe (in summer only)

If you want a longer walk, you could take a stroll around the quarry – or you could walk up to the paddle boating rental station. It’s right beside the Riverwalk Cafe, which is next to the DuPage River here on the west side of the quarry. It’s only a few hundred yards from the Gregory Gazebo, so hopefully you won’t get lost!

During the summer months, you can paddle boat or kayak on the quarry for $10 per twenty minutes. The seasonal Riverwalk Cafe also offers all the family favorites if you need a quick snack or a coffee – though save some appetite for the Egg Harbor Cafe later on.

8. Walk across the beautiful covered bridge

One of the most beautiful parts of the riverwalk are the covered bridges. You’re about to head right over the first one on our tour. It has the official title of the Naperville Riverwalk Covered Bridge and it’s a sight to behold. It feels really romantic to walk through and in the evening it’s lit up with fairy lights. Children, wives or girlfriends are guaranteed to love it here, so leave enough time to take a quick picture!

9. Check out Centennial Beach

Now we’re back on the North side of the river and it’s time to check out one of the most popular summertime spots in Naperville – Centennial Beach. That’s right, you can find sandy shores right here in the suburbs.

If you bear slightly left and follow the winding footpaths, you’ll go through Centennial Park and back around to the beach. It’s not hard to find during peak months as there will be lots of people around it. In the summer, you can go swimming, diving or just top up your tan. So if you’re planning to make a longer stop, be sure to check your parking hours and bring a bathing suit.

It’s also a great spot for a picnic if you’re so inclined. Bring a blanket, a hamper and some good friends!

10. Pass by the Landforms Art Sculpture

Keeping the river to your right, head up the Riverwalk towards downtown. We’re getting pretty close to all the action now, but there are still a couple of beautiful spots along the Riverwalk to check out.

One notable historical monument are the landform sculptures. You’ll find them just on the corner where St Eagle Street cuts the Riverwalk path. The sculpture was a gift from the Naperville Art League in 1984, commemorating the hard work of all the volunteers who built the Naperville Riverwalk.

Community spirit is deeply embedded into the history and present of Naperville and you’ll find tributes to it dotted throughout the town as part of the Century Walk.

After you’ve checked out the sculpture, cross over St Eagle Street and keep the river on your left – this will make for the best reveal of the Dandelion Fountain.

11. Stroll over the Naperville Bridge to the Dandelion Fountain

We’re almost at the best part of the Riverwalk, the Dandelion Fountain. It’s a small but architecturally distinct fountain that makes for a lovely end to the Riverwalk.

It’s one of my favorite places to sit with a coffee, read a book, take a picture and just take in the atmosphere of downtown Naperville.

12. Stop for a bite to eat at the Egg Harbor Cafe

I don’t know about you, but I think any good walk should work up an appetite and be rewarded by a delicious meal. There’s no better place to head right now than the Egg Harbor Cafe. Simply cross Jackson Avenue at the Dandelion Fountain and it’s right there waiting for you.

They serve egg-ceptional breakfasts and lunches all day long, including gourmet pancakes, skillets, seafood frittata, waffles, french toast, meltingly cheesy sandwiches… Need I go on?

This place is well worth a stop, but if you’re tight on time you can grab a coffee and cake, or a healthy snack, to go.

And if you’re looking for a more serious meal in Naperville to end your walk, check out our recommendations:

15. Walk back along the Southside river path

We hope you enjoyed the walk so far! To get back to your car at the Naperville Riverwalk Parking, we recommend taking the Southside river path, since we spent a lot of time on the Northside. But you can also retrace your footsteps. The park is linear all the way along the river, so it’s pretty hard to get lost.

If you’re with little ones who are tired, you can get them hyped up by promising a quick play at the Jaycee Park, which is just before the carpark at the end of the walk. It’s a mini adventure playground with tons of slides, climbing frames and more.

On paper, Naperville IL is one of the best places to live in America. The niche rankings place Naperville as the best city in the nation for raising and family and number one for public schools, as well as 3rd best city to live in and the 5th best city, to buy a house. But we get a lot of people asking us whether the reality of living in Naperville is as good as the sales brochure says.

As life-long locals to the western suburbs, we’re going to weigh in on the best and worst parts of living in Naperville IL – no holds barred. Brace yourself because we’re going in!

Worst parts of living in Naperville

5. The traffic and parking

If you’ve ever tried to get across Naperville during peak hours, you’ll know what we’re talking about. Between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 till 7:00 pm, Naperville gets very congested with families doing the school run as well as commuters. Unlike quieter suburbs, you’re not only getting the flow out of the village and into Chicago, but plenty of people are also coming into Naperville to go to their retail and hospitality jobs downtown and shifts at Edwardsville Hospital.

It’s also not just the traffic but the sprawl of the suburb itself. Naperville is sometimes dubbed a city, and thanks to its size, there’s a lot to do here. But it also means that depending on where you live, it can take a while to get around. The downtown is very walkable, but from most places in Naperville, you can expect to set aside twenty minutes to get there, which also applies to the metra. If you live on the Southside of the city, it may take you up to 35 minutes to get onto I-88 when traffic is particularly bad.

Finally, there’s the parking. Naperville’s downtown is one of the most popular in the Chicago suburbs, so you’re not just competing with commuters for a parking spot – but you’re fighting off the daytrippers too. Luckily, Naperville has free street parking although it is two hours maximum. There are also several free off-street parking facilities for those longer stretches. Just be prepared to drive around for a while, particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings.

4. The low housing inventory

Central Naperville Real Estate

Be prepared to tough out the competition for real estate, because boy, oh boy, is Naperville popular right now.

You could see this as a positive or a negative depending on your situation. If you’re looking to move to Naperville, getting onto the market at the moment can be a headache. Naperville has always been popular, but we’re still seeing extra increased demand since the post-lockdown swell. You will definitely need a realtor who is experienced with the Naperville area to help you close on the home you want.

However, if you already own property in Naperville or are looking at a long-term investment, you should see the popularity as a definite plus. And even if you are an outsider coming in, look at it this way; with the right realtor, you will get onto the Naperville property ladder – at which point you’ll have a solid investment in your hands.

3. The competitive schools and daycare

Naperville North High School

With the best public schools in Illinois, you shouldn’t be surprised that things can get competitive around here. Whether you see this as positive or negative is down to your subjective worldview. On one hand, a little healthy competition encourages students to strive for the best, giving them a great head start and teaching the reality of how competitive life can be. The flip side is that not everyone can compete and not everyone excels under pressure. It’s important to think about whether that’s the right environment for your family.

The other thing to consider is whether the schools’ demographics suit your needs. Often people ask us whether Naperville is a diverse suburb and there isn’t a simple answer. In this case, bear in mind that the demographics within schools can be different compared to the overall population.

If you look at the general Naperville population, you will see that it is a predominantly white suburb and that Asian people make up the largest minority group at 15% of the community. The high schools, however, are more diverse both in terms of ethnicity and in the percentage of low-income students. You can check out the figures yourself for each high school in Naperville at illinoisreportcard.com

Finally, on the subject of school populations – bear in mind that it’s not just the academics that are competitive. There are long waitlists for daycare and nurseries in Naperville. If you are an expectant family or have young children already, you should get on the waitlist as early as you can so you don’t come unstuck.

2. The high expenses and cost of living

There are no two ways about it — Naperville is expensive! Of course, how you view the expense will depend on where you’re coming from but compared to many other suburbs in Illinois, you will face high home prices and property taxes. The average family income in Naperville is $125,926, which is almost twice the national average. We have seen other sources estimate that you need to make around $80,000 to enjoy the minimum comfortable living standards in Naperville

The average home value in Naperville is $410,800, so you can expect to pay around $9,102 per year in property taxes. The 2.22% property tax in Naperville is quite standard for DuPage County and compared to other DuPage suburbs, it sits in the middle of the road.

Hinsdale, Elmhurst, Downers’ Grove, Clarendon Hills, and Darien all come in cheaper, whereas you’ll pay more taxes to live in Wheaton, Aurora, Glen Ellyn, or Warrenville. Property taxes in Naperville are actually modest if you compare them to Glendale Heights or Hanover Park, which come in at a few percentage points more.

The other way to look at it is that, if you can afford it, it’s worth paying for the number 1 public schools in America and all the great amenities on offer here in Naperville.

1. The people?

Finally, we’re onto the most controversial criticism, which is the “Naperville Stereotype”. Some people say that Napervellians are snobby, rude, or that they are not inclusive of diversity. Yet, plenty of locals will tell you that this suburb is friendly and welcomes everyone. So, what’s the truth?

Spoiler alert: We can’t give the ‘official truth’ about Naperville people, because there isn’t one. Just like anywhere in the world, your opinion will depend on who you associate with and who you cross paths with. Instead, we would say that no matter where you are moving, you should visit the place extensively to find out if it’s a good cultural fit for you and your family.

What we can do is give a little insight into the demographics. Statistically speaking, Naperville plays host to a largely white and affluent community that has somewhat moderate political views.

That’s not the whole story though, as Naperville gets visitors from all walks of life and the diversity has increased in recent years. However, if you are looking for a very dynamic and open-minded suburb, you might consider checking out towns like Skokie or Aurora (or take a look at our full list of the best diverse suburbs in Chicago). They’ve both got their own vibrant downtown areas and are known for more diverse, liberal communities.

Best parts of living in Naperville

As well as putting Naperville’s drawbacks under the microscope, it’s only fair to consider its best sides too. After all, there is a reason that this suburb has such an impressive collection of awards and accolades.

5. The varied supermarkets

When you first take a look at an area, it’s easy to be drawn to the fun and exciting amenities – the fancy restaurants or the shopping. But when you live somewhere, it’s often the day-to-day conveniences that make the difference.

One of Naperville’s less bragged about qualities is that it has plenty of good stores in close reach. You’re never too far away from a Jewel-Osco or an ALDI, one of which is a 24-hour store. There’s also a Marianos, which is voted Chicago’s favorite for price and freshness combined.

Other popular stores in the Naperville area include Trader Joe’s and a Casey’s and, naturally, there’s Whole Foods and a Costco too. All your tastes and price points are pretty much covered here in Naperville and that’s without considering all the small shops and restaurants in the downtown area.

4. The great outdoor spaces

Knoch Knolls Nature Center

Naperville is excellent for outdoor spaces, both urban and natural. The riverwalk through the downtown is one of the best in the state and it drifts through Burlington Park and Centennial Park. The more outdoorsy type can get their fix at the Springbrook Forest Prairie or McDowell Forest Preserve, and families here in Naperville love days out at the Knoch Knolls Nature Center. Last but not least is one of Naperville’s best-kept secrets, which is hiking up to the 190-foot scenic overlook in Greene Valley Preserve to watch the sunset over Naperville.

We can’t overstate how many outdoor activities there are to do here. There are bike trails, dog walking, horseback riding, fishing, boating, picnicking, and bird spotting, most of which are free. In the summer, you can splash about or kick back at Centennial Beach or one of the multiple outdoor pools. In winter, you can go skiing. You don’t get opportunities like this in every suburb of Chicago, making Naperville a real breath of fresh air for outdoor spaces.

3. The schools, amenities, jobs, and safety

Santo Cielo, Naperville Riverwalk

Naperville might be busy and slightly expensive, but those downsides come with a significant payoff – the quality of life here is great. We’ve already touched on this key point a few times because we think that you get a lot back for what you pay in property taxes in this suburb.

Naperville is far from being the most expensive suburb in DuPage county, yet it has the best schools, fantastic community events, beautiful parks, plenty of job opportunities, and very reassuring safety data. If money were no object, a lot of people would jump at the chance to have the quality of life available in Naperville and so it’s definitely worth appreciating.

2. The vibrant downtown

Naperville Downtown Shopping

Most of us only get one or two days each week off to enjoy ourselves, so it says a lot that so many people choose to spend theirs visiting Naperville. It has something for everyone; it’s a shopper’s paradise and has over 50 restaurants and bars, all of which are set in the picturesque location around the DuPage river.

We’ve heard some people say that Naperville used to have more independent outlets – this might be true and there are certainly are a lot of national favorites in the suburb these days. But from time to time, who doesn’t love or need Barnes and Noble, Pottery Barn, or Sephora?

Plus, Naperville does still have plenty of family-owned places and one-off stores; if you’re looking for something special, you can find jewelry boutiques, antique collections, and mom-and-pop type restaurants all over the downtown area and surrounding suburbs. Me and my family personally love downtown Naperville, and that’s why it makes second on our list of the Chicago suburbs with the best downtowns

1. The incredible school system

Neuqua Valley High School

If you aren’t a family or a young person, then perhaps this factor doesn’t make number one on your list. But there’s a lot to be said for living in America’s number one destination for public schools. Naperville is renowned for having some of the best and brightest places for students to flourish. With the possible exception of the internet, nothing is as integral to modern humans’ survival as meat. Thankfully, Naperville is a meat lover destination. You won’t have to travel far to find the best-tasting beef, lamb, pork, or even game meat. If you are looking for the best steak paradise in the city on weekends or weekdays, start here. Here are our Five Best Steaks In Naperville.

5. City Gate Grille

2020 Calamos, Naperville, IL 60563

My friend and I discovered this eatery and gave it a shot on a Sunday night for dinner. Expect an incredible ambiance, perfect steak, and signature cocktails. My friend ordered the filet mignon, and I had the most extraordinary T-bone with béarnaise. Everything, including the appetizers, bread, drinks, and our main entrees were on point.

The steakhouse is easy to get to, and they have ample parking. Their service is phenomenal, going by the dinner experience we had. Their menu was filled with dozens of options, from salads to salmon, potatoes, and others.

We were lucky. They had live jazz music during our visit, which truly elevated the dining experience. Apart from the fact that they provided ample servings, the food was mouthwatering. The steak was tender and well-seasoned.

Pureed potatoes, green beans, carrots, yams, cranberry sauce, mixed greens, rolls, and a giant pumpkin pie—it was all phenomenal. City Gate Grille offers just the same quality of meats as you would find in premier steakhouses across the states, except that their price is reasonable and their service is much more streamlined.

4. Walkers Char-house

8 W Gartner Rd, Naperville

Walkers Char-house is a great Naperville steakhouse to enjoy good food and discounted drinks. It is a great place to meet new people and start random conversations.

I came here with my in-laws. The food was dazzling; I requested the Bone-in Ribeye – which was cooked flawlessly! The Desi light cuts were the top pick! The Prime Rib was drool-inducing.

The servers were remarkably efficient and served us faster than I expected. It was also a very clean atmosphere—I felt very safe eating there, and the workers ensured that we felt at home.

Toward the end, the owner came and thanked us all, and he even introduced us to the Head Chef. He was classy and professional and gave us a sneak peek of the magic that happens behind the scenes. We were embarrassingly blown to bits.

3. Morton’s

1751 Freedom Dr, Naperville

What’s good? Cajun Ribeye Steak

Ask one of the waitresses, “What’s good today?” and most of them will enthusiastically recommend the Cajun Ribeye Steak. It was tender, juicy, and flavorful. It comes from farm-fresh beef, they say. I also had the option of choosing from many stews, salads, and potato dishes.

My server took the time to explain everything on the menu. He provided great suggestions and made me feel at home. Even with social distancing and all COVID 19 protocols at the restaurant, it was still an experience to live for!

The steakhouse is centrally located in Freedom Commons, the new shopping mall at Interstate 88 at the Naperville Road exit. Boasting a glam and cozy interior and a beautiful terrace, Morton’s is simply a must-try steakhouse in Naperville.

They serve beer and wine too. Apart from steals, expect an extensive menu of seafood, mac and cheese, and nearly everything you can think of. What started in Chicago in 1978 is presently quite possibly the best steakhouse chain in the nation.

2. Hugo’s Frog Bar and Fish

55 S Main St, Naperville

What’s good? Each bite is a party in the mouth.

When I heard a friend describe Hugo’s this way, I dismissed it as hyperbole. Then one day, when I had a business engagement on S Main St., I checked in for lunch, and it was truly exceptional.

If you are looking for the best quality meat in town, add Hugo’s Frog Bar and Fish House to your list of must-try steakhouses. Apart from steak, their menu is diverse, including fresh fish and seasonal dishes.

The Naperville eatery boasts an excellent sitting area room, which can accommodate 12 to 40 individuals for dinner and 75 for a cocktail party. They serve three meals a day so that you can pop in any time.

They serve ASDA quality meats. That means you get the best grade of beef for whatever steak you choose. All steaks are served with salad, mashed potatoes, and a choice of soups.

Is it expensive? Sure. This is a fancy café popular among Naperville’s upscale diners. However, for their great food, fantastic atmosphere, and excellent services, the experience is worth every penny.

1. Sullivan’s Steakhouse

244 S Main St, Naperville

What’s good? Good music and good food

This is the place to be when you need fresh hand-cut steaks, signature mixed drinks, and vibrant music, all intended to allow you to loosen up and enjoy the weekend. It’s easy to get here, given its conspicuous location in the Historic District. The exceptional midtown Naperville eatery teleports you to some other time in history.

I first came here with my cousin, and the experience was mind-blowing. After the River Walk, the Prairie Nature Reserve, and a whole morning of sightseeing, we got here famished and ready to eat anything available.

The reception was A-OK. I immediately fell in love with classic interior design and ambiance. Their Wonderful menu was full of flavorful choices taking things to a whole new level.

My cousin had shrimp and lobster bisque and seared salmon with green beans. I went for a plate of Caesar greens, Delmonico steak, roasted garlic, and horseradish pureed potatoes. There are numerous steakhouse chains around Naperville, but Sullivan’s surely stands out from the rest.

If you are on the hunt for the best steakhouses in Naperville, IL, try one of the above five options. Expect clean and great dining atmospheres, sumptuous and luscious steaks, and friendly service to boot.

“There ain’t no better sushi than Naperville sushi.” How does that sound for a tagline? Let’s find out why it is more than a potential tagline. Naperville is a city in DuPage and Will counties. While this info is not directly related to sushi, it proves to you and me that their sushi is so good that it spreads across two counties. Whether you are a foreigner, a local, or just someone lost in search of the perfect sushi, below is a guide to the best Naperville sushi spots.

Shinto Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Lodge

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Shinto is the number # 1 Japanese restaurant in Naperville. As a customer, you are treated to a fantastic Shinto experience that includes a well-prepared sushi meal. Their Japanese and sushi are the most common in Naperville, qualifying them for the top position in our review list.

That aside, Shinto Japanese is the best in Naperville when it comes to sushi rolls and sushi bars. Their sushi gives you the best fish on land and sea. You can get them in the standard rolls of 6 pieces per order or custom order 8-10 rolls.

You also have an option for teriyaki and hibachi dinners straight from the grills!

What’s more? The whole meal prep is entertaining in your eyes: flames dancing, eggs flying, and sushi meals. Fortunately, it is also vegan-friendly if that’s your thing.

Shinto is perfect for a sushi fan and leaves customers satisfied while craving for more.

Wild Tuna Contemporary Sushi

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Wild Tuna Contemporary Sushi is among the best in Naperville for Japanese cuisine. The cozy atmosphere and efficient staff make your sushi meals worth the effort and time. Wild Tuna Contemporary Sushi provides an a la carte menu for your convenience.

The restaurant is small, quaint, and local, making it perfect for a sushi date. They are notorious for their premium sushi at reasonable prices. The cocktails are always crisp and on point. For a unique taste experience, ask for their best-recommended item on the menu. Just like a good and considerate restaurant is, Wild Tuna Contemporary Sushi is vegetarian-friendly.

Chicago has never seen such a unique sushi spot, with Japanese and Asian cuisines as well. It is almost like a hidden gem but with easy access.

Kiku Japanese Steakhouse

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Tasty mouthwatering unique sushi. Kiku Japanese Steakhouse is arguable among the best Naperville Japanese food spots. The sushi is good, right from preparation. The chef can be lively and dramatic, entertaining with the tricks, flips, and making the food to the highest standard.

Order the Kiku Rainbow Sushi Roll for a sweet sushi experience in Naperville. Why leave without trying their delicious tempura, gyoza, bluefin salad, chocolate lava cake, and ice cream? The interior decor is superb, welcoming lighting, and most importantly, absolutely courteous staff.

Sushi + Rotary Sushi Bar

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Whether you love or hate sushi, Sushi+ is not a place you would want to meet. It is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but ultimately the best among the rest. The restaurant uses fresh ocean fish to provide all its customers with first-class fresh sushi and sashimi.

Sushi+ offers fantastic dessert options, yakitori, and cocktails. The traditional sushi is delicious-feel free to try the spicy crab maki, tamago mentai nigiri, or anything with sake.

Everything is fresh, flavorful, and distinct. The whole conveyor belt concept makes it the best Naperville sushi spot for you and your friends or with your date.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Blue Sushi Sake Grill is definitely among the best in Naperville when it comes to Japanese cuisines. You are welcomed into a great ambiance that is enjoyable outside. The atmosphere is warm, making customers feel too relaxed.

While in that relaxed mood, go ahead and sample their tantalizing sushi, tasty melon soup, curry chips, and cashew chicken. Treat yourself to their sweet Belgian chocolates, watermelon salads, and butter cakes.

If that’s your guilty pleasure, wash it down with delicious martinis, cold, pale ale, or wheat beer. At this point, try their excellent chocolate frappe, iced green tea, or fruit tree. Never miss the opportunity for the best sushi spot in Naperville.

Sushi Naper

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

“The food is amazing; you would want to go twice,” an online review.

Sushi Naper chefs make their food from scratch using over 200 ingredients in their open-source kitchen. There is no luck when it comes to preparing their sushi to be as delicious as it tastes.

The salads are made with fresh, hand-chopped vegetables then tossed with their personalized dressings. They use fresh-baked ciabatta bread and inspired signature spreads to make their delicious sandwiches.

If you’re looking for the best burger, then you’re spoiled for choice in Naperville. From quick and easy options to something a little fancier, your search for the best Naperville burger starts here. Grab a top burger from any of the five restaurants below.

Burger City

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The name says it all and customers agree that Burger City does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a no-frills, no-fuss kind of restaurant, serving up quick but delicious burgers. The place may serve simple American classics like the bacon cheeseburger but it does so to perfection. You’ll leave with your cravings fully satisfied.

There are options for vegans and vegetarians as well, with Burger City serving up the world-famous Beyond Burger, made completely of plants but tasting close to the real thing. This means that everyone can enjoy a juicy hamburger cooked to perfection. Everything is home-cooked by local chefs, yet prices are kept low. If you happen to be wandering down College Road, then why not stop off at Burger City for a top burger?

Rock Bottom

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Described as quick and casual, you might be surprised at the quality of the burgers at Rock Bottom. Despite their low price, they come in large sizes to fill even the largest hole in your stomach. The combination of flavors on a perfectly toasted brioche bun will have you salivating the moment it arrives at your table. This is a place to hang out with a few drinks and some delicious food.

If you think you can’t handle a whole burger, then why not try some of the appetizers? The chicken wings, in particular, are a favorite among diners. The restaurant is located on Diehl Road, Warrenville, so it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in that area. For a fun, relaxed atmosphere, few places are as enjoyable as Rock Bottom.

NWB: Next Whiskey Bar

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

If you’re looking for something a little different, then NWB in Naperville offers its own unique blend of flavors. For instance, check out the turkey and avocado burger, which one reviewer described as the best they’d ever had. Customers describe the food as gourmet, as exemplified by the truffle fries. This is a place for burger enthusiasts looking to get their hands on new exciting burgers that have been expertly prepared.

Of course, being a bar, this isn’t a place to just get a quick burger and then leave. There’s a huge variety of bourbons to choose from, each expertly crafted to sit perfectly next to a homemade hamburger. Located on Main Street and a short walk from Ogden Avenue, this is the ideal restaurant in which to begin your weekend.

Five Guys

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Address: 9850 Balmoral Ave, Rosemont, IL 60018

You’ve probably been there a million times but have you visited the Five Guys in Naperville? Many claim it’s one of the best in America and the ONLY place to go if you want a seriously good burger. You know what you’re getting and quality food is delivered every time. If you’ve never been to a Five Guys before, then why not start with the one in Naperville? You won’t be disappointed.

It’s located downtown on Chicago Avenue, a convenient and easily reachable location. From the cajun fries to the strawberry shake, this is quick and easy food that everybody enjoys. Burgers are handmade and the portion sizes are bigger than almost anywhere else. This is a great family-friendly restaurant that does some of the best burgers in Illinois.

Portillo’s Hot Dogs

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

You wouldn’t expect it from a place that explicitly specializes in hot dogs but this joint does the best Naperville burgers. If you’re driving on U.S. Route 34, then why not stop off at this famous Illinois restaurant for an authentic American dining experience? You’re guaranteed to find a juicy burger that just hits the spot perfectly.

Although the burgers are one of the most popular orders, there are also vegetarian and vegan options so don’t be afraid to enter if you’re traveling with a herbivore. There’s also a mixture of hot beef and grilled sandwiches, catering to your cravings no matter what mood you’re in. Customers also highly rate the fries, making this an all-around great restaurant.

Flip through the pages of Time Magazine, any edition, and you will find high praises and ratings for Naperville Chicago as one of the best places to live in the US. Naperville has everything, from good schools to safe neighborhoods and good food. When in Naperville and in need of excellent Chinese cuisine, here is where to look.

Best Chinese Food Restaurants in Naperville

MingHin Cuisine

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

MingHin Cuisine has the most relaxing and calm atmosphere to enjoy your food. The service is excellent with awesome staff who are always in good spirits. I ordered a shredded pork salad, which is their best salad. Whatever you order, you can always expect a chocolate-covered strawberry and a slice of freshly baked bread.

Their food is arguably the best in Naperville– they make it from scratch in their open space kitchen. They use hundreds of different ingredients. All the soup is prepared by hand, using unique recipes. The sandwiches are made using the special MingHin spreads and the house-baked bread.

House of Emperor Chinese Cuisine

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Check out House of Emperor for great-tasting Chinese and Thai dishes. The food is well cooked and delicious, and the staff provides excellent service. I have come here many times with my family, and I love that they have many gluten-free options for my sister with allergies.

Try their Pork Chow Mein Pork, Scallion Beef, Mongolian Beef, Egg Drop, or Chicken Noodle-everything is perfectly cooked. I loved the cream cheese, crab meat, and green onions wrapped in a wonton wrapper.

House of Emperor stands out with the care they take in the cooking process and the carefully preserved quality of the stove, wood, and smoke that goes to their famous food. I almost ordered everything from soups to meats, rice, and much more. It is worth a second visit.

Chinese kitchen

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This is one of Naperville’s oldest Chinese restaurants, but the food and service are great to date. I stop here now and then for a taste of the flavors I grew up with in Chicago. The cuisine is mainly Cantonese with a mix of Mandarin and Szechwan recipes.

The ingredients are fresh, and the meat remains tender. If you ever visit, try the Mongolian beef and Egg foo Young. The cooking is well worth your time and money. Sesame chicken rocks too.

The Chinese kitchen uses only fresh ingredients, guaranteeing that all the dishes are of the highest quality. The menu has many options; you can plan something new all the time.

Reasonable prices and big servings, plus, they are adapting well to COVID 19 safety requirements. They can deliver food to your car, so you never have to risk your safety.

BD’s Mongolian Grill

Rating: 4 out of 5.

BD’s Mongolian Grill has been providing a unique and fun dining experience to Naperville residents since 1992. Everything on the menu is fresh, and you are given a chance to customize your recipe.

You get to select all the ingredients you want and watch as their famous grillers prep your custom creation before your eyes on a giant grill! I was thrilled, and it felt like the first every time since then. If you are just discovering your love of Chinese, BD’s won’t disappoint.

The food is terrific. There are uncountable choices in each category, from meats to veggies and sauces and spices. You will love the idea of making your own Mongolian stir fry dish-your options are limitless. There are many suitable vegans and vegetarian options to choose from and an array of spices and sauces.

These are the best Naperville Chinese food venues, serving great food and beautiful dining environments, history, and rich culture. Start exploring.
