The pizza is topped off with fresh basil, garlic, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. I have been here more than once, and their pizza often makes you want to go back for more.
Mama Maria’s are famous for thin-crust pizzas. Go for the white pizza finished off with artichokes and basil, or try something from their variety of Italian pasta.
You can decide to eat in, take out or order a delivery. The restaurant has a small dining area with six tables. The easygoing dining area, well known for families, offers seats for around 30.
They have pasta such as spaghetti and gnocchi. Their spaghetti sauce is made in-house. The larger menu has ribs, breaded shrimp, and eggplant parmesan. Even so, it’s the pizza menu that makes Mama Maria’s clients reverently loyal.
#2 Roberto’s Ristorante
If you are looking for a less known and less crowded Pizza restaurant in Elmhurst, IL, try Roberto’s Ristorante. Their prowess in pizza making is unmatched. What meets the eye at first is the richly designed lounge area and an extensive menu of top Italian choices. But when you look closely, the menu has an extensive array of Italian pizza delights.
The pizza of note at Roberto’s is the Vito’s Special. It’s an Italian foodie’s fantasy-prosciutto di parma, arugula, fontina cheese, additional olive oil, and cherry tomatoes.
They use fresh ingredients and traditional recipes that lead to consistently spectacular results. The main menu is a lot bigger than you would expect, and prices are kept low. Roberto’s is a must-stop spot for pizza lovers.
#3 Two Brother’s
Two Brothers is a family establishment set up by Angelo and Rosalia Battaglia in 1976. They keep using the freshest and most excellent ingredients to make delicious homemade meals with extraordinary pride.
It’s now more than 40 years since Two Brothers have been in business, yet they still make some of the city’s best pizzas. They have impressive pizza choices with amazing crust and flavorful toppings. You’ll love every bite. There is something here that other Italian restaurants could borrow a leaf from.
Pizza is their forte, but it’s not the only thing on the menu. You will have a broad menu of all standard Italian dishes with a few signature cuisines that you may be tempted to share on Instagram stories.
When you visit, go for the thin crust piazza, and don’t miss the Italian Beef with Peppers. Save room for dessert; Spumoni is great. The food here is worth a long drive from the city every so often-that’s what I do. I can’t get enough of it.
Please note: I am a tad bit biased since I have been coming here since childhood. But it’s hard to find a pizza place that matches the style and taste of Two Bros’ hand-tossed pizzas.
#4 Armand’s
In 1956, Mike, a local butcher, and Armand, an artist, got together to start an eatery. They combined both of their talents into their new pursuit. Mike brought his experience and family recipes into the kitchen, where he made many well-known things on Armand’s menu, and Armand displayed his unique fine art in the lounge area.
They chose the name of the restaurant through a coin toss. Mike won, and he decided to name the spot Armand’s Victory Tap. The idea thrived, selling a huge number of Mike’s unique thin-crust pizzas week after week.
Armand’s is best for Chicago Pizza near Elmhurst, IL. The crust is ultra-delicious, with the sauce being indescribably tasteful. You’ll love their flavor of Pepperoni and cherish how the cheese blends rightly with the salty fresh, and tasty mozzarellas that make your mouth water at first sight.
Their focaccia bread is great, and each of their meals is excellent with an amazing service to boot. Be warned, though. The Pizzas are costlier here than at other pizza places in Elmhurst. But the quality stands out-check out Armand’s for authentic Chicago-style pizza.
#5 Lou Malnatis
Lou Malnati’s are the Chicago deep-dish pizza magicians. They make it tasty and cooked to perfection. It even tastes fantastic when cold the next day.
The restaurant was started in 1971 and has since expanded to 50 locations around Chicago. The ambiance is low key, but the staff is great, and their pizza surpasses expectations.
Lou Malnati’s is always packed with the two local people and travelers and is a great family-accommodating alternative. Lou Malnati’s butter crust is firm on the base and holds together even under the garnishes’ heaviness. The Lou, a signature dip dish, is topped with spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms, and a triple mix of mozzarella, cheddar cheeses, and Romano.
Each of the Lou pizza is of high quality made with fresh ingredients, but no, they are not imported from Italy. Malnati sends chefs to handpick California’s best-aged tomatoes and veggies for the ideal sweet and tart taste. Their mozzarella cheddar comes from a small Chicago dairy farm serving them for more than 40 years.
